How do you choose what to draw? You draw a lot of actors and famous people so you probably have to choose a reference. How do you choose which picture to use as a reference? For example, do you look for easier angles of the person's face? Or do you just find a picture you like and draw it? (sorry for the wordy-ness) And thanks for letting me ask all my questions :P
Me:

usually i just draw stuff i like. like i started this series of game of thrones because i was watching the new episodes and after tyrions speech i just felt i had to draw him, it got a good response and i liked how it came out so i carried on and now i’ve set myself a project of doing 20 characters and selling them as prints eventually. And the same with my true detective ones, i just watched it, liked it, drew it.

Usually i’ll just google the character or person and choose one or two pictures i really like with good lighting and angle etc and either draw directly from one photo or use elements from more than one. some times if i’m not drawing specific real person or character i’ll use photo reference of myself for body positioning and alike

When did you start drawing digitally and why do you prefer it to traditional media? What tools do you use?
Me:

i started last year when i started drawing my comic nighthawks but only started doing more digital stuff after christmas when i got my own cintiq. I don’t know if i prefer it to traditional media, i do like using charcoal and paint some times but it is much easier to do the stuff i’m doing at the moment digitally because of all the different brushes and textures you can use just on your computer. I do all my stuff in manga studio which it really nice to use and i mostly use Frenden brushes which are also really nice

The portraits you draw for Game of Thrones are amazing! Do you have any advice for drawing portraits? My inferior sketches need a lot of help (as you can see on my blog :P). I actually have a lot more art-related questions but I didn't want to bother you too much.
Me:

ahhh thank you! Uuuuummm.. I don’t really know to be honest. Practice! mine have improved a lot just since i started doing these games of thrones ones, my first one of tyrion is definitely the worst one i’ve done, and that was only a few months ago. just keep doing it! aha i don’t mind, not sure how much help i would really be though
